Soldiers Arrest New Castle Man on Multiple Burglary and Theft Charges – New Castle – Delaware State Police

New castle– Delaware State Police Arrest 34-Year-Old Man Brian Gallagher in multiple burglaries and related charges.

The incidents began in early October 2021 when soldiers began investigating a wave of break-ins at storage containers and construction sites in the New Castle area. Through investigative measures, Gallagher was identified as the suspect.

On November 26, 2021, soldiers apprehended Gallagher at the Quality Inn located at 147 N. Dupont Highway, New Castle. Gallagher was taken into custody without incident. The soldiers obtained a search warrant for the motel room in which Gallagher was staying and subsequently discovered several stolen power tools, over $ 3,600 in suspected product, approximately 33.7 grams of marijuana and approximately 3.8 grams of methamphetamine.

Gallagher was returned to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following:

  • Third degree burglary (felony) – 4 counts
  • Third Degree Burglary Attempt -2 counts
  • Theft over $ 1,500 (felony) – 2 counts
  • Theft under $ 1,500
  • Criminal mischief – 4 counts
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana (civil)

Gallagher was arraigned before Justice of the Peace No.11 and pledged to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $ 11,600 secured bond.
