Stihl named Terrence “Terry” Horan its new CEO.

Horan joins Stihl after a career as RPM Consumer Group President of RPM International. Horan has also held various senior management positions, including President and Chief Executive Officer of DAP productspresident of Main lock President and CEO of Boschand president of Dremel Power Tools.

“I am thrilled both personally and professionally to join the Stihl team,” said Horan. “I look forward to meeting and working with the men and women here in Virginia Beach, our branch and distributor teams, and our vast network of over 10,000 local Stihl dealers across the country.”

Horan, a Chicago-area native, earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Northern Illinois University.

Ron Niederman Named Proven Winners Certified Landscape Professional

Providence Landscape Group Ron Niederman was recently named the newest Proven Winners Certified Landscape Professional (PWCLP) by Proven winners.

Niederman is the Landscape Construction Manager for Providence Landscape Group in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a 38 year green industry veteran with extensive experience in the landscaping, design-build, landscape construction and landscape maintenance industry.

Niederman has held several positions throughout his career, including groundskeeper, supervisor, account manager, division manager, and business owner.

The PWCLP program designates landscape industry professionals who have demonstrated expertise in the effective use of the Proven Winners brand of plants.

Arborjet | Ecologel has announced several new company-wide hires

Arborjet | Ecologel appointed Zachary Peterson was named Midwest Regional Sales Manager. It will support commercial turf markets in this region. Peterson has extensive experience in the green industry, most recently serving as grounds manager for the Milwaukee Brewers for nearly five years. He also holds a degree in turf management from Purdue University.

Mark Andrews, Director of Commercial Sales at Arborjet | Ecologel, will lead a reinvigorated initiative to expand sales opportunities in Canada.

Nicole Speros joined the Arborjet team in the newly created role of Inside Sales and Marketing Associate. Speros is a graduate of Stonehill College, where she majored in communications and criminology.

Taylor Grant recently joined Ecologel Solutions as a Business Development Associate. Grant graduated from the University of Florida in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Resource Economics and a Masters in International Business. While at UF, she was chosen to be part of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Leadership Institute and the CALS Ambassador Program.

Ecologel has also hired Jennifer McLaughlin as an administrative assistant at the company’s headquarters in Ocala, Florida. McLaughlin brings seven years of bookkeeping and administrative support experience from his previous role in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

Takeuchi appoints new regional sales manager

Takeuchi named Joseph Funck its new Regional Business Manager (RBM) for the Mid-Atlantic region. Funk will be responsible for all sales and business development in this multi-state region, including dealer development, dealer recruitment, inventory control, forecasting, program promotion and communication. .

“Joseph has a lot of enthusiasm and a real knack for building customer relationships,” said John Vranches, national sales manager at Takeuchi. “He has a combination of sales, management and customer service experience that makes him an ideal candidate for the role and our team. We are thrilled to have him join the Takeuchi family.

Based in Gainesville, Ga., Funk comes to Takeuchi from his former role as Sales Manager for Fieldale Farms, a large food retailer. Prior to his tenure there, Funk worked in customer service and inside sales roles, including Neff Rentala construction equipment rental company.

“Takeuchi is a growing company, and I’m really looking forward to helping them meet and exceed their sales goals in the Mid-Atlantic region,” Funk said. “Over the past few years, I have sharpened my knowledge of heavy equipment and look forward to working with Takeuchi dealers and introducing their customers to the many benefits they can enjoy when purchasing Takeuchi machines.”

Scenic Road Manufacturing Announces New Hires

Manufacture of scenic routesLancaster County, Pennsylvania, announced the placement of Kevin McGill as general manager and Tom McDermott as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

“Kevin’s drive and experience managing complex operations gives me complete confidence in his abilities,” said David Esh, owner of Scenic Road Manufacturing.

In his most recent role as an operations supervisor for a medical device company, McGill successfully ran a $50 million plant with more than 70 direct reports.

“I am thrilled to join this family business during an impressive period of accelerated growth,” said McGill.

The company has also promoted Tom McDermott, who joined Scenic Road in 2011, from national sales manager to vice president of sales and marketing. McDermott brings 45 years of experience in the consumer product manufacturing industry to the company.

“Tom always brings new energy to the business,” Esh said. “His enthusiasm and passion for the product line makes him the salesperson par excellence.”
