KINSMAN – Frank A. Hiland, Jr., 52, died Wednesday afternoon, June 30, 2021, at his residence.
He was born in Greenville, Pennsylvania on November 28, 1968, the son of Frank A. Hiland Sr. and Shirley Wood McElhaney. He graduated from Joseph Badger High School in 1987 and was enrolled in an apprenticeship program from 1993 to 1998 at JVS in Youngstown.
He worked as a metal worker in Local 33 in the Youngstown District. He was a member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church.
Frankie enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his boys.
He is survived by his father, Frank de Cortland; his mother, Shirley of Kinsman; two sons, Frank A. Hiland and Evan G. Hiland, both of Farmdale; one sister, Heather Keeling and her husband Greg of Mineral Ridge; two half-sisters, Michele Buchholz and her husband Joe, and Maureen McClimans and her husband Mike, both of Jamestown, Pennsylvania; a special cousin, Brett Strimple; his best friend, Steve Higgins; mother of her children, Meghan Hiland; and his favorite dog, Billy.
He was predeceased by his stepfather, Carl McElhaney; and her stepmother, Donna Hiland.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown, Pennsylvania. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
