Edouard Paul Preczewski | Houghton Lake Tourist Resort

Army veteran Edward Paul Preczewski, 93, of Houghton Lake, died on November 17, 2021 at the Villa of West Branch.

The visitations were held on Monday November 22 at St. James Catholic Church, Houghton Lake. A Christian funeral mass was held at the church, presided over by Father Bernard Tyler. Interment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery, Roscommon. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, made the arrangements.

He was born on April 18, 1928 in Hazel Park, son of Joseph and Anna (Zitney) Preczewski. He grew up in the Hazel Park area where he graduated from Hazel Park High School. He served as a technical sergeant in the army during the Korean War.

On July 27, 1953, he and Noreen Sarah Williams were married in Hazel Park. He worked as a sheet metal worker for many years. The couple then moved from Troy to Houghton Lake in 1974. They owned and operated the Sun-N-Snow Resort on Houghton Lake for many years before retiring.

Mr. Preczewski was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the American Legion and the Circle Square Square Dance Club. He loved vintage cars, being outdoors and especially square dancing and spending time with his wife, Noreen.

His parents preceded him in death; wife, Noreen Sarah Preczewski; three brothers; and two sisters.

Mr. Preczewski’s survivors are his daughter, Judy (Ken) Delgreco of St. Johns; two sons, Michael (Joyce) Preczewski of Roscommon and Ken (Patricia) Preczewski of Roscommon; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Seiner; and several nieces and nephews.
